A team of five will be participating in the Butterfield Half Marathon on Sunday to raise money for Guernsey Motor Neurone.

The team consists of brothers Ben and Matt Holland, Vito Priore, and daughter-father duo, Jenny and Dave Rowlinson.

The Holland brothers have taken on the challenge having lost their mother Sam to MND earlier this year.

Meanwhile Mr Rowlinson has been helped by GMN for a number of years as he has a neurodegenerative disease similar to Motor Neurone Disease.

Ben, Matt, Vito, and Jenny will be assisting him around the course in a specially adapted wheelchair, which will provide an “extra challenge” according to Butterfield Bank, which has waived the team’s entry fees into Sunday’s race.

The team had set a fundraising goal of £1,000 to be raised, but as of writing that’s already been surpassed, and is currently sitting at just under £1.2k.
