Guernsey footballer Maya Le Tissier has been named in the England Women’s squad for the upcoming Euros in Switzerland.

The Manchester United women’s team captain will be part of the team as the Lionesses seek to defend their European Championships title from 2022.

Posting on Instagram after she learned she had been selected for her “first major tournament with England”, Le Tissier said it was a “dream come true”.

The 23-year-old has so far made eight appearances for the England team.

England’s first match in the UEFA Women’s Euros 2025 is against France on Saturday 5 July, kicking off at 20:00 BST.
