Women’s Muratti captain Holly Sundby joined Archie Corbett for a special episode of The Bailiwick Sports Podcast ahead of Saturday’s huge inter-island clash with Guernsey at Springfield Stadium.

Jersey head into the 1:30pm kick-off looking to avenge last year’s 2-1 defeat and reclaim the trophy on home soil, with Sundby expressing confidence in the squad’s preparation and mentality heading into the fixture.

The captain discusses the importance of focusing on Jersey’s own performance rather than the opposition, while also praising the impact of the Jersey Bulls Women setup following a hugely successful inaugural campaign.

Sundby highlights standout performances from players including Anita Tavares ahead of her first Muratti appearance, while also crediting coaches Chad Morris, Harry Walker and Laura Riley for the passion they continue to bring to the squad.

The episode also explores Sundby’s own journey into the captaincy role, the close-knit nature of the group, and why strong home support could prove vital this weekend, with more than 300 tickets already sold ahead of kick-off.

She hopes a loud Springfield crowd can help drive Jersey towards victory and spark celebrations “bigger and better” than ever before.
