The Warm Up is back as another busy weekend of Jersey sport approaches, with plenty of action both at home and across the water.

Sports Editor Elliot Corbel and Sports Reporter Archie Corbett look ahead to the weekend’s biggest fixtures, beginning with a challenging trip for Crusaders.

The unbeaten champions of local hockey last year, Crusaders, head to Guernsey to face Guernsey Colombians in the Upton Cup tomorrow afternoon. Captain Tom Millar comes into the fixture full of confidence after a thrilling 3-2 win against JHC Leopards last week.

Elsewhere, Elliot Powell’s side Jersey Bulls travel to Winchester City tomorrow, facing one of just seven unbeaten teams in the league.

Winchester currently sit third and boast the division’s best goal difference at +12, setting up another stern test for the Bulls, who will be without a number of key names this weekend.

There is also a first away fixture of the season for Jersey RFC, who travel to face Leicester Lions in their third match of a demanding run of seven consecutive fixtures, as they continue to search for their first win in National League 2 East.

The Jersey Bulls Women are also back in league action, travelling to Oxted & District for their second Surrey Division One fixture.

The Evelyn Partners Jets are also back on the road on Sunday morning, travelling to face Charnwood at 9.30am.

The Jets made an excellent start to their Premier League 2 campaign with victory over Team Bath last weekend, but face another significant test against a Charnwood side who also opened their campaign with a convincing win.

Closer to home, there are four Premiership 1 fixtures to keep an eye on, with Rozel Rovers hosting St Paul’s, St Clement welcoming Jersey Wanderers, St Ouen facing Grouville and St Peter taking on St Brelade.

The island is also hosting the Veterans’ Home Nations table tennis tournament, adding another international element to a packed weekend of sport.
