This week’s episode of The Warm Up is dominated by the Channel Islands’ biggest rivalries as Muratti and Siam Cup fever grips the sporting calendar.
With one of the most anticipated weekends of the year approaching, The Bailiwick Sport Podcast released three special feature podcasts during the week, sitting down with some of the Island’s key captains ahead of the huge inter-insular clashes.

Muratti captain James Querée joined Archie Corbett in the studio ahead of Saturday’s 108th Muratti Vase at Springfield Stadium, discussing the pressure, pride and emotion attached to one of the Channel Islands’ biggest sporting occasions.
Querée reflected on his own Muratti journey, the influence of record appearance holder Jack Cannon within the coaching staff, and Jersey’s hopes of reclaiming the trophy on home soil after last year’s defeat in Guernsey.
Meanwhile, Jersey RFC men’s captain Evan Whitson sat down with Elliot Corbel to discuss leadership, dressing-room culture and the mindset behind Jersey RFC’s remarkable season, which saw the side win 21 of their 22 league matches before heading into this weekend’s Siam Cup showdown at Footes Lane.
Women’s captain Katie De La Cloche also joined Oliver Kidman for a special Siam Cup preview, speaking openly about leading Jersey into another fierce inter-island battle and the challenge awaiting a squad featuring seven debutantes.
Away from the inter-insular spotlight, Jersey Cricket begin their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers campaign in Cyprus this weekend.
Chuggy Perchard captains the Island in Group A against Switzerland, Cyprus, France and Croatia, with matches running from Saturday through to Wednesday. All fixtures will be streamed live on ICC.tv for supporters wanting to follow the campaign from afar.
There is also domestic silverware on the line tonight as Jersey Wanderers Reserves and Rozel Rovers First meet in the JFA Bowl final at Springfield Stadium. Both sides are chasing their second trophy of the season in what promises to be another entertaining local final.
Jersey Ladies Volleyball are also back in regional action this weekend following a stunning unbeaten campaign in which they did not drop a single set. They now head into the South East Volleyball tournament for the third consecutive year to face some of the strongest sides from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Kent and Hampshire.
Women’s football rounds off the weekend schedule with two Sylvia Spinola Memorial Cup fixtures on Sunday. Sports Club of Jersey and St Peter Women meet in the Plate final at 10:30am before Jersey Wanderers Women take on Rozel Rovers Women in their final at 1:30pm.
