Jersey sport took centre stage once again in the latest episode of The Cool Down, as Bailiwick Sports reporters Archie Corbett and Elliot Corbel broke down a weekend packed with big wins, standout performances and Island success across multiple sports.
Episode two of the bi-weekly podcast had plenty to celebrate, headlined by a statement weekend for the Jersey Bulls, who hit six goals in both their men’s and women’s fixtures.
The men produced one of their most impressive performances of the season with a thumping 6-1 victory over second-placed AFC Croydon Athletic at Springfield Stadium in the Isthmian South East Division.
Sunday brought more of the same as the Bulls’ women continued their flawless league form with a dominant 6-0 win over Cranleigh, completing a perfect weekend for the club and giving the podcast hosts another reason to revel in Jersey’s growing football presence in the English pyramid.

The pair discuss the future of the Women’s Bulls as a rule change from the league means their future is uncertain and feels slightly unfair.
Away from football, the focus turned to netball and an emphatic performance from the Evelyn Partners Jets, who enjoyed a commanding 64-39 win on the road against Hatfield Hawks. The duo described it as one of the Jets’ most complete displays of the season as they continue to build a strong case for being considered one of the Island’s standout sporting sides.
Junior sport also took the spotlight, with a detailed run-through of Jersey Hockey’s annual junior inter-insular trip to Guernsey. The episode covered the introduction of under-12 fixtures for the first time, Jersey’s success at under-14 level, and the competitive nature of the matches across the age groups, reflecting the depth of talent coming through on the island.

To round off the episode, Corbel took the lead on cricket, recapping Friday night’s Jersey Cricket Awards and highlighting the standout performers from an impressive domestic season.
The Cool Down forms part of Bailiwick’s new podcast offering, designed to give listeners a relaxed but informed review of the weekend’s sporting action, with results, context and a touch of personality.
The team will be back on Friday afternoon with the next episode of The Warm Up, previewing another busy weekend of fixtures across Jersey sport…
