Cherry Godfrey has announced the appointment of one of Guernsey’s most respected property professionals, Stuart Leslie, as Head of Residential Sales.

A Cherry Godfrey spokesperson said Mr Leslie was “widely regarded as a leading figure within the island’s residential property market”, with more than a decade of experience including on “some of Guernsey’s most notable property transactions”.

His appointment represented “a significant step in Cherry Godfrey’s continued evolution as it expands its property offering and strengthens its position within the Guernsey market”, they added.

Mike Collins, Group Property Director, said Mr Leslie had “earned the trust of countless number of clients through his professionalism, market insight and ability to guide people through important property decisions with confidence”.

“His experience, reputation and deep understanding of the market locally make him an exceptional addition to our leadership team,” he added.

The spokesperson said Mr Leslie joined Cherry Godfrey at a “pivotal stage in the company’s growth”.

‘Opportunities like this don’t come along often’

Mr Leslie – who joins after many years at another leading local property company – said he was attracted by “the opportunity to be part of a business that’s still writing its next chapter”.

“The foundations are already incredibly strong, the brand is trusted, the people are passionate – and there’s a genuine ambition to keep evolving and raising the bar,” he added.

While he could have “taken the sensible option and looked for a quieter life”, he said opportunities like joining “a business at this stage of its journey [didn’t] come along very often”.

Cherry Godfrey said the appointment reflected its “long-term commitment to investing in experienced local talent and building a market-leading property proposition”.
