Finance group Cherry Godfrey has bought estate agent and property management company Mawson Collins.

A spokesperson said moving into property was “a natural next step” for Cherry Godfrey – which already offers mortgages as well as other finance products – and praised the “deep market knowledge and strong reputation” of the Mawson Collins’ team.

The property side of the business will be rebranded as Cherry Godfrey Property, but will continue to work from Mawson Collins’ existing offices at L’Islet, St Sampson.

Tanzy Cherry, Cherry Godfrey’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Bringing the two businesses together allows us to deliver our plans for Cherry Godfrey Property in a way that is established, credible and firmly rooted in Guernsey.”

Mike Collins, the current Managing Director of Mawson Collins, will become Group Director of Property at Cherry Godfrey.

He said the move was “a very positive step” and an “exciting opportunity to strengthen the business for the long term”.

“Our clients will continue to work with the same people, from the same offices, with the same level of service they expect from us,” he added.
