Local businesses are being invited to compete for the title of ‘Guernsey’s Best Workplace’ in a brand-new employee engagement award.
The initiative has been launched by All Island Media, the parent company of Bailiwick Express, the Jersey Evening Post, and HR consultancy business CompassJersey.
The new annual award aims to recognise organisations that are considered great places to work by their employees.
Participating businesses will receive a survey focused on employee satisfaction, wellbeing and workplace culture. The award is an opportunity for organisations to showcase what they do well, acting as a celebration and benchmark of success.
James Horrigan, Strategy and Growth Director at CompassJersey, said the Guernsey’s Best Workplace initiative “is not another employee engagement survey”.
He said it’s an “opportunity for employees to give their opinions, openly, honestly and fairly, in a way which can be used to help the company market itself externally as well as to shape its internal practices”.

Businesses will not only receive detailed results and analysis but will also be benchmarked against other local businesses.
Top-performing companies will be highlighted in a special Guernsey’s Best Workplace publication distributed online and in print through Bailiwick Express and CONNECT magazine. Winners will be honoured at a special awards ceremony.
All Island Media CEO James Filleul said the award enables businesses to “showcase their commitment to creating a positive workplace environment and use the results to enhance their reputation, attracting and retaining top talent”.
In addition to the survey results, and the potential to be crowned ‘Guernsey’s Best Workplace’, each entrant will receive an All Island Media advertising credit and an annual subscription package, and a free consultation with CompassJersey to explore insights and next steps.
