RBS International has appointed a new Jersey market lead with “extensive leadership experience” and a “deep understanding of island economies”.

The role has been taken on by Ian Perry, who brings more than 38 years of banking experience with NatWest Group.

He has held a range of senior leadership positions across retail, commercial and corporate banking.

This has included time leading branch networks, managing customer-facing banking businesses and serving as a regulated officer of Isle of Man Bank.

Mr Perry described Jersey as “a vibrant and ambitious island with a strong business community”.

He said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this role. Throughout my career I’ve been passionate about helping customers achieve their ambitions and supporting the long-term success of local economies.”

Mr Perry continued: “I look forward to building even stronger relationships with our customers, colleagues and stakeholders, and working together to support investment, innovation and sustainable growth across Jersey.”

His appointment comes as RBS International continues seeking to support major investment across Jersey.

Most recently, NatWest International, part of RBS International, strengthened its relationship with Jersey Electricity through a £100 million financing agreement alongside HSBC and Lloyds.

And earlier this year, NatWest provided a £162 million syndicated financing package to support JT Group’s partnership with CVC DIF and acquisition of Manx Telecom Group.

Richard Steel, managing director of international retail, commercial and private banking at RBS International, said Mr Perry’s appointment “reflects our continued commitment to Jersey and our ambition to support customers, businesses and communities to grow and drive the island’s success”.

He added: “Ian brings extensive leadership experience, deep understanding of island economies and a strong track record of building lasting customer relationships.

“Combined with the significant investments we’re helping to deliver across the island, his appointment demonstrates our confidence in Jersey’s future and our commitment to supporting sustainable growth.”
