Organisers of an upcoming cryptocurrency-focused summit have announced that 20 free tickets are on offer to islanders who are currently unemployed or have recently graduated.
The Digital Asset Summit – Crown Dependencies, hosted by local virtual asset services provider Moneybrain, aims to help islanders understand and benefit from the “fast-changing world” of digital assets, AI and financial education.
The event will take place on Thursday 2 October and bring together industry speakers, such as Professor Sarah Green, to discuss how AI, financial innovation, and tokenisation are shaping the future economy.
The free tickets, worth £5,000, have been made available through the Moneybrain BiPS Foundation. The company says it forms part of its commitment to financial inclusion and aims to benefit people “who need it most”.
Lee Birkett, CEO of Moneybrain, said he hoped the free tickets initiative could help support Jersey’s community.
“I have been inspired by so many young Jersey people and their love for the Island. They want to stay, but the lack of digital innovation and exciting job opportunities has stifled so many young people’s hopes and dreams of remaining here,” he said.
“There’s a new economy, it’s global and onchain, and people who have these skills are in demand all over the world.
Mr Birkett added that he was “keen to help develop” these individuals locally.
“Today is when the evolution is needed if Jersey is to have an economy fit for the future of its people.”
If you are interested in attending and currently unemployed or a recent graduate, email gemma@moneybrain.com to claim a free ticket.
