The Association of Guernsey Charities is excited to announce the first ever ‘Charities Seafront Sunday’, taking place this weekend on Sunday 17 May 2026 along the town seafront.

This brand-new community event will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm, with a full road closure in place from 7:00am to 6:00pm, transforming the seafront into a vibrant hub of activity, entertainment, and charitable support.

A Celebration of the Community

Visitors can look forward to a fantastic day out with a wide range of charity stalls stretching along both sides of the seafront road. The event is designed to bring together local organisations, supporters, and families in a fun and welcoming environment, while raising awareness and funds for a variety of good causes.

At the heart of the event, the Crown Pier will host a packed programme of entertainment, including:

  • Majorettes at 10:00am
  • Boys Brigade performances at 12:30pm
  • A much-loved Fun Dog Show at 1:00pm
  • Live music from GU10 at 2:00pm

With something for all ages, the event promises to be a highlight of the island’s calendar and a great opportunity to support the charitable sector.

Supporting Local Charities

Stallholders from across the island will be showcasing their work, offering activities, goods, and information about the vital services they provide. From fundraising initiatives to engagement activities, visitors are encouraged to explore, learn, and support.

To help create a fun and lively atmosphere, a number of giant animal suits will also be available for stallholders to borrow in exchange for a donation—perfect for attracting visitors and adding to the day’s excitement.

Event Organisation and Safety

Due to road closures and safety requirements, stallholders will have set access times with all vehicles required to be removed by 9:15am to ensure public safety, as early visitors are expected.

Attendees are reminded that:

  • There is no power or water supplied on site unless already agreed for selected charities only due to location
  • Some areas will remain clear for access and local businesses
  • All stallholders are responsible for keeping their area clean and removing their rubbish

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager and Director of the Association of Guernsey Charities, said: “We are incredibly excited to be bringing the very first Charities Seafront Sunday to Guernsey. This event is all about showcasing the amazing work of our local charities and providing a platform for them to connect with the community in a fun, accessible way.

“The response from organisations has been fantastic, and with so many charities coming together along the seafront, it really highlights the strength and spirit of our island community.

“We hope families, supporters, and visitors will come down, enjoy the entertainment, meet the charities, and show their support. Events like this are so important in helping charities continue their vital work, and we’re thrilled to create what we hope will become a much-loved annual occasion.”
