Would you pay £30 for a message from a Real Housewife of Jersey?

If the Real Housewives of Jersey being on your television just wasn't enough for you, for £30 you can now have them send you a direct message.

Nearly the entire cast has signed up to online video message site 'Memmo', where celebrities can charge fans for personalised messages.

All of the cast - apart from Kate Thompson and Tessa Hartmann - are charging £30 a video, with their pages promising “birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, pep talks and more."

According to the site’s rules, they have to have recorded the message with seven days of a request.

Video: Real Housewives of Jersey star Ashley Cairney invites people to book her to record a personalised message.

However, if you just can’t wait for your response from Housewives such as Mia Ledbury, Ashley Cairney, Hedi Green, Margaret Thompson and Jane Rayner, they are charging an extra £15 to get it done within 24 hours.

For businesses wanting a video message, though, the cast are putting forward the heftier fee of £600 per response.

Speaking on the site, Real Housewife Ashley Cairney said she was “more than happy to do any of your personal messages like birthdays or Christmas - just send me a message!"

Whether islanders take up the Housewives on their offer remains to be seen - when it was first broadcast, there were mixed reactions from locals, with some calling on people to “embrace” the fact Jersey was now in the limelight, others enjoying it for the “so bad it’s good” factor, and a number dismissing the show altogether, with one commenter saying it was "overproduced."

Whatever the thoughts of islanders on the programme, it doesn't seem like reality television is going to be leaving Jersey anytime soon - just earlier this month, reports began emerging that Jersey was being considered as a serious contender for the role of Love Island this year.
