WATCH: "Please stay at home"

Thursday 02 November 2023

The worst of the storm might be over, but it's still not safe for islanders to venture outside.

That's the message from Jersey's Fire and Rescue Chief Officer, Paul Brown.

In a video update posted to social media, he said his team had dealt with more than 100 calls emergency calls during "an exceptionally busy night" as Storm Ciarán battered Jersey, and were continuing to do so.

He urged islanders: "Please stay at home if you possibly can.

"Today is not a day for going out."
