A new short horror film, filmed and produced in Guernsey, will premiere in the island later this month.

Dead Air: Part 1 tells the story of a pair of local radio hosts who try to keep spirits high during a storm, by taking phone calls on their late night show.

Things take a turn when one of the presenters unwittingly performs a strange ritual live on air, and his show becomes a gateway for something ancient and malevolent…

As their town descends into chaos, the police struggle to contain reports of violence and supernatural disturbances. While the radio presenters and police officers scramble for survival, the night reaches a chilling climax at a funeral where the nightmare spills into the real world—marking only the beginning of a much darker tale.

Director Billy Le Page told Express he has been working on the film for a number of years and can’t wait to share it with audiences.

“I was inspired to work on this film because I had written it three years ago and heard about Captain Hook (another locally produced film) and wanted to see what I can do,” he said.

“I’ve been involved with stage shows before so I decided maybe I will try films too.

“I love showing my work, especially stuff I have created like some of the characters in shows that I have done.”

Dead Air: Part 1 will premiere in Guernsey on Saturday 25 October at St Peter’s Community Hall.

Doors open at 18:00 with the screening starting at 18:30.

The event will also include cast awards and a Q&A with cast and crew.
