2026 Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition
Next Friday the 30th of January, Guernsey Arts welcomes in the 2026 edition of The Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition!

Now in its fifth year, this community exhibition continues to go from strength to strength, with submissions from photographers of all ages. It showcases the unique and varied range of wildlife that our beloved Bailiwick has to offer, inviting the viewer to slow down and take a deep look at the beauty of nature.
This year is a record year with over 90 wildlife photographers of all ages taking part in the show. We are so excited to see that the show is so loved and appreciated by Island photographers and extremely grateful to 2026’s sponsor, Mourant, for supporting the ethos of the show for a second year running.
Education is a core outcome of the Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition. We are grateful to the Nature Commission and to feature Judge Tim Harvey for joining us in judging this year. In addition to the core awards, we look forward to revealing the winner of two special awards : the Mourant Sustainability Award and the Barry Wells’ Award for the most promising student photographer in the Pollinator category.
Last but not least, this exhibition would not be possible without our wildlife photographers. We thank them for their work and hope that you enjoy the stories and moments that they have captured within this exhibition.
The Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition takes place at the Greenhouse Gallery within Guernsey Museum at Candie. Normal admission applies, free with discovery pass.

3 Week Lino Cutting & Printmaking Workshop
Discover the joy of lino cutting in this relaxed, hands-on three-week course designed for beginners and those looking to build their printmaking skills.

Over three sessions, starting next Monday the 26th January, you’ll learn essential carving and printing techniques, explore creative mark making, and produce a series of beautiful prints to take home.
Week 1- Single-Colour Lino Print (Mark Making & Fundamentals)
We begin with the basics: how to design, safely carve, and print a simple one-colour lino block.
You’ll experiment with different tools and mark-making techniques to create texture, contrast, and expressive lines in your design. By the end of the session, you’ll produce your first printed edition.
Week 2 – Two-Piece, Two-Colour Print
Building on the first week, you’ll design and carve a two-piece lino block that fits together to create a bold, layered two-colour print.
This session focuses on planning colour combinations, and achieving clean, crisp multi-colour prints.
Week 3 – Simple Reduction Print
In the final weeks, you’ll dive into the magic of reduction printing—using a single block, carved in stages, to build up multiple colours in one artwork.
You’ll learn how to plan your image, how to register your prints, print each layer in sequence, and create a small edition of reduction prints with depth and character.
By the end of the course, you’ll have gained confidence in design, carving, and printmaking techniques – and created a collection of original lino prints showcasing your new skills.
This workshop takes place at the Iris and Dora studio on Ruette Braye for 3 weeks, from 6pm – 8:30pm, Monday 26th January until Monday 9th February.
Ol’ Peels Place: If These Walls Could Talk by James Kail
Guernsey Art Network are excited to announce that ‘Ol’ Peels Place’ by James Kail will be the first rolling exhibition at the Chamber of Commerce for 2026!

In a world where the polished replaces the aged, this exhibition invites us to slow down and reconnect with place, material, and memory. A nostalgic, universal space, the grubby local, the old farmhouse, the pub you first visited with your grandad. Where humanity leaves its mark, moment by moment.
All are welcome to opening night next Thursday the 29th January, 6-8pm at the Chamber of Commerce.
National Theatre Live: Hamlet Screening
Olivier Award-winner Hiran Abeysekera (Life of Pi) is Hamlet in this fearless, contemporary take on Shakespeare’s famous tragedy.

Trapped between duty and doubt, surrounded by power and privilege, young Prince Hamlet dares to ask the ultimate question – you know the one.
National Theatre Deputy Artistic Director, Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat) directs this sharp, stylish and darkly funny reimagining.
This screening will take place from 7pm at the PRCPA next Thursday the 29th of January.
