2D & 3D Design and Making workshops
2D + 3D Design & Making workshops will be taking place at Elizabeth College this August!
The workshops, aimed at young people from the ages of 12 to 17, will teach you to model using a variety of techniques on wood, metal, paper, card, plastic and upcycled objects.
The remaining dates are Monday 10th, Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th of August. All sessions will start at 9am and conclude at midday.

Teen Maker Club: Crochet keyring
Join the Guille-Allés Library team at the Fab Lab for Teen Maker Club; a workshop series taking place over 5 weeks! Suitable for young people aged 11-15, makers can dive into a different craft each week. Next week, Thursday the 13th of August from 7:30pm, local literary favourite Night Voices will return to Pingquays for another relaxed and inclusive poetry and spoken word evening!

Alderney Chamber Music Festival 2026
The long-awaited Alderney Chamber Music Festival returns next Wednesday the 12th of August!
The annual festival celebrates chamber music through a varied and exciting lineup of events, taking place across the beautiful island of Alderney.
The festival starts with ‘Keeping up with the Mendelssohns’ at St Annes Church from 7pm on Wednesday the 12th of August. Thursday the 13th we return to St Annes church for ‘A Little Night Music’ at 7pm. Your weekend starts with ‘Bach and Coffee’, taking place at the Island Hall on Friday 14th of August from 11am, followed by the ACMF Materclass at 2pm. Saturday brings ‘The Lark Ascending’ to St Annes Church at 7pm, and the festival concludes on Sunday the 16th of August with ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at the Island Hall from 7pm.

Art at the Park: ‘Land, Sea and Feathers’ by Georgina Smart
Georgina Smart’s first solo exhibition, ‘Land, Sea and Feathers’, takes to the Art at the Park Gallery within the Folk and Costume Museum at Saumarez Park!
Running from next Tuesday the 5th of August until Friday the 4th of September, 10am until 5pm daily (but closing at 2pm on the final day), the exhibition focuses on our local wildlife, in particular the birdlife of the island, as well as some landscapes. Georgina’s free watercolour style is refreshing and light, befitting the birdlife it portrays. Bold puffins and singing wrens share space with foraging avocets along with backgrounds of Harbour lighthouses and Fort Grey.
The Gallery has free entry and is accessible friendly. Don’t miss your chance to explore this wonderful exhibition!
Twilight Cinema at Castle Cornet
The popular Twilight Cinema will be back at Castle Cornet in 2026, from next Thursday the 6th August until Saturday 15th August!
Set against the historic backdrop of Castle Cornet, enjoy beautiful views of St Peter Port from the top lawn. A family friendly film will show every day at 5pm, with a film for older viewers starting at 7pm.
Bring a picnic, a rug (or a chair if you prefer) as well as blankets to keep warm, and enjoy a truly special experience.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
