A special Christmas offer has been put on for travellers requiring parking for more than 24 hours at Guernsey Airport.

In the period from 1 December to 28 February, Ports is offering a discount of up to 40% on long-stay parking.

Discounts will be automatically applied when paying, with savings starting at 25% for a two-day stay, and increasing up to 40% for stays of five days or more.

For two days, it’ll cost £30, for five days £54, and it will be £64.80 for seven days.

Guernsey Ports said it had decided to introduce the seasonal promotion for travellers flying from Guernsey Airport to make on-site parking easier and more convenient at a lower price for winter travel.

David Buddery, the Commercial Development Project Manager for Guernsey Ports, described the process of arranging transport around travel as a “headache”.

Mr Buddery said: “We know winter travel can be stressful, so we wanted to make on-site parking even easier and more convenient at a lower price.

“Whether you’re heading away for some Christmas shopping, chasing the winter sun, or hitting the slopes with your ski gear, parking at the airport means you can travel on your own schedule, in the comfort of your own vehicle.

“At this time of year, everyone’s busy, and arranging transport to and from the airport can be a real headache. On-site parking takes the hassle out of travel, and these discounted rates provide a smart way to save some extra money towards your trip.”

Whilst Philip Smallwood, the Chief Operations Officer at Aurigny, stated that the discounted parking would make travel easier for their customers: “The prime time for Christmas shopping and winter getaways is fast approaching, whether you want to pop over to London or Southampton to browse the stores, the city of love for Valentine’s Day, or Grenoble to hit the slopes, you can do this easily with Aurigny.

“Now, with discounted parking at Guernsey Airport, you can travel back on your own schedule knowing your car is waiting for you when you get back.”

Rebecca Larsson, Marketing & Development Manager for the C.I. Travel Group, approved of the move.

She said: “We’re delighted that our clients flying direct to Gran Canaria in December and January will be able to take advantage of this fantastic offer, making an already quick and simple direct journey even smoother.”
