100: Art of Expression

In celebrating 100 exhibitions at the Greenhouse Gallery, Guernsey Arts have an exciting surprise exhibition planned to mark the milestone… ‘What does Art mean to you?’

This exciting showcase will be opening this Friday the 27th of June, and running until Sunday 24th of August.

The Greenhouse Gallery, located within Candie Museum, is open daily from 10am – 5pm. Tickets can be obtained from the front desk, and are free with the Discovery Pass.

SOPM PARTY IN THE PARK

After such a successful inaugural event last year, SOPM are delighted to announce that the Party in the Park will be returning, this Saturday the 28th of June from 12pm!

“For one day only, Delancey Park will transform into a vibrant festival featuring performances from all of our groups on the ‘Mainstage’. We will also be joined by lots of fantastic vendors to provide food, drink and entertainment.

Bells and Whistles Jewellery Making Workshop

Ever wanted to try your hand at jewellery making? Now’s your chance!

Join Athene Sholl and her team for the Bells and Whistles Jewellery Making Workshop this Saturday the 28th of June, between 1pm and 4pm.

You’ll be creating bracelets using semi-precious stones, and waterfall earrings incorporating pearls and precious stones.

The bells and whistles jewellery making workshop begins with a guided introduction to beading techniques. You will make a stack of 3 stretchy bracelets with semi-precious stones and a pair of drop earrings, and then a pair of our signature waterfall earrings using precious and semi precious stones. We only use recycled sterling silver.

£165 per person, with a maximum group size of 6.

The workshop will take place at our St Peter Port studio which is fully stocked with a good selection of stones and pearls. Directions to the studio will be sent to you in your order confirmation email.

Different Brushstrokes for Different Folks

The latest Art at the Park exhibition opens next Tuesday the 1st of July!

This exciting showcase will include a varied selection of works from Linda C Falla, Sharon De La Mare and Louis De La Mare.

Running until Friday 25th July, you can expect everything from vibrant abstracts to glorious floral paintings and whimsical creatures… The exhibition explores a variety of styles and media!

It is open daily from 10am until 5pm at the Art at the Park Gallery, Folk and Costume Museum, Saumarez Park. (Please be aware that the exhibition will close at 2pm on the final day). It is free entry and the Gallery is accessible to all.

MORPHEUS PIANO TRIO

The Swallow Recitals Event Series is back at St James next Thursday the 3rd of July from 7:30pm! 

Morpheus Piano Trio members Amy Dodds, Sally Singer Tuttle and Tom Hicks originate from the US, England and Guernsey respectively. They share a common interest in presenting works from Britain and featuring composers who may not have received full recognition in their time in history.

Collectively the trio members have performed internationally in venues such as the Wigmore and Albert Halls of London, Glinka Hall, St. Petersburg, Russia, Notre Dame de Paris, and Alice Tully Hall, New York, and have received critical acclaim for numerous recordings in solo and chamber genres by reviewers representing Gramophone, The Strad, Fanfare, The American Record Guide, International Piano and Classical Music Daily.
