The highest temperature ever recorded in Guernsey was reached shortly after 14:00 today.
A high of 35.5c was recorded by the Met Office at 14:12BST.

The temperature this afternoon exceeds the previous highest temperature ever recorded in Guernsey which was set in August 2003 when 34.3c was recorded.
The Duty Observer at Guernsey Met Office told Express that the forecast peak today is 36c.
Between 13.45 and 14:15 the temperature climbed from 34.2c to above 35c before peaking at 35.5c, and dropping back slightly to 35.3c by 14:20BST.

The maximum temperature ever recorded in Guernsey is the third weather record that has been broken so far this year.
In May, a new record was set for the month’s maximum recorded temperature when it hit 31.5c on the 26th.
The previous highest temperature for June was set in 1976 when 30.8c was recorded on 26 June.
This week has seen that record broken multiple times, with 32.2c recorded on Monday and 33.8c on Tuesday, and now 35.5c so far today.
Wednesday’s temperature only reached a maximum of 31.7c.

Meanwhile, the start of the year was ‘wetter than average’ but did not break any records.
By Tuesday 24 February we had only had one dry day recorded so far this year, with the month noted as “the wettest on record since 1978”.
