Spending your days surrounded by cute cats and playful seal pups must have many perks, but it could be stressful.
So the Guernsey Mind put on a mindfulness and mental wellbeing awareness session for the team at the GSPCA.
More than 20 people attended the thought-provoking workshop, which explored mental health, wellbeing, stress awareness, supportive practices and the range of help available locally.
Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said: “We are extremely grateful to Lisa Ingrouille and Guernsey Mind for taking the time to provide such an informative and valuable session for our team.
“Working in animal welfare can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also expose staff and volunteers to emotionally demanding situations.
“The session encouraged us all to reflect on the importance of looking after our own wellbeing and recognising when support may be needed.|”
Tim Pellett, Training and Community Officer at the GSPCA, added: “The session was both interesting and thought-provoking and prompted some excellent discussions amongst our staff, placements and volunteers.
“We are always looking for ways to support the wellbeing and professional development of our team, and understanding mindfulness and mental health is an important part of that.”
