Action for Children’s Guernsey Youth & Housing Project and Caritas Guernsey are inviting the community to mark World Homeless Day by attending a special film screening.
Taking place on Saturday 10 October 2026, the World Homeless Day Cinema event will feature four films shown across four screens, all connected by a common theme of homelessness.
Aaron Davies, Service Manager for Action for Children Guernsey, said: “By bringing the community together through cinema, we hope to create meaningful conversations about homelessness this world homeless day and raise awareness of the support available locally.
“Most importantly, we want people to understand that homelessness can affect anyone and that early support can make a significant difference.”
The event has been sponsored by The Bachmann Group and Mallard Cinema.
Graham Merfield, from Caritas Guernsey, said: “We are pleased to partner with Action for Children on this event because raising awareness and understanding of homelessness is an important part of tackling it, particularly when so much homelessness remains hidden.
“World Homeless Day provides a valuable opportunity to remind our community that homelessness can happen to anyone, and that with the right support at the right time, lives can be changed and homelessness prevented.”
Entry to the event is free, with advance booking required.
Guests will also can donate in support of Action Mentoring, which helps local young people at risk of homelessness have access trusted adult volunteer for support and guidance.
