A charity golf day has raised thousands for Islanders affected by breast cancer, as demand for the annual event continues to grow.
ABC Jersey’s fifth annual Golf Day raised over £30,000 after a fully booked tournament at La Moye Golf Club on Friday 4 September.
The event brought together teams from across Jersey’s business community for a day of golf and fundraising, with organisers saying demand had been so high that a waiting list was in place for the 2026 tournament.
Following a day of golf, the afternoon continued at the clubhouse with lunch, a raffle and live charity auction, followed by an evening with live music.
All money raised will go towards ABC Jersey’s work supporting Islanders affected by breast cancer, including practical, emotional and financial assistance.

‘Every penny comes back into our community’
Sarah Burns, ABC Jersey Ambassador
ABC Jersey ambassador and organiser of the Golf Day, Sarah Burns said the latest fundraising total was “fantastic.”
“Seeing this event fully subscribed again is something we’re incredibly proud of.
We have teams who return year after year, alongside new players wanting to be part of the day, and there is always such a wonderful atmosphere at La Moye.”
Ms Burns said that behind the number raised are “businesses, players, sponsors, volunteers and individuals who genuinely want to make a difference.”
“Every penny comes back into our community and enables ABC Jersey to continue supporting Islanders and their families when breast cancer enters their lives.”

The charity said the Golf Day has grown into one of its most popular annual fundraising events.
More than £22,000 was raised through the event in 2024, while the tournament itself raised £17,002.90 in 2025.
That year’s event formed part of a wider fundraising day involving Mark’s Brave the Shave challenge, taking the combined total to more than £28,500.
The charity said this year’s funds would help it continue providing financial and practical assistance, emotional support, wellbeing initiatives and projects aimed at improving the experience of people going through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
The 2026 Golf Day was supported by Medicann, Highvern and CSC.
Medicann has also committed to supporting future ABC Jersey Golf Days, building on its relationship with the charity, which includes the Medicann 5K Your Way event.
Medicann chief executive Gary Whipp said: “For Medicann, supporting ABC Jersey is about much more than sponsoring an event.
Care, wellbeing and community sit at the heart of what we do, and we believe strongly in supporting people beyond the clinic.”
“ABC Jersey makes a tangible difference to Islanders affected by breast cancer, so we’re incredibly proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of the Golf Day and to have made a longer-term commitment to the tournament.”
Highvern Executive Chairman Martin Hall said the company was “delighted to support this important annual event”, while CSC Channel Islands Managing Director Nicola Giraud said the Golf Day showed what could be achieved when Jersey’s business community came together around a shared purpose.

ABC Jersey has been supporting Islanders affected by breast cancer for more than 25 years.
Its services include financial and practical support, monthly support meetings and wellbeing initiatives, as well as projects developed with local healthcare professionals.
The charity is also expanding its work around breast health awareness and early detection.
Ms Burns said the fundraising total would allow ABC Jersey to continue responding to Islanders’ individual needs.
“We never take the generosity of our community for granted. A total like this gives us the ability to keep saying ‘yes’ when somebody comes to ABC Jersey needing support.
“That’s ultimately what the Golf Day is about. It’s a fantastic day and everyone has a great time, but behind all the golf and friendly competition is a very serious purpose – making sure Islanders affected by breast cancer know that they don’t have to face it alone.”
