The crash happened outside of the entrance to Saumarez Park just before 17:00, and saw an SUV collide with the front of the vintage war-time vehicle.
All three emergency services attended the scene and two people were taken to the ED for treatment of “what was believed to be minor injuries”.
When the Fire Service and Police had made the scene safe, Guernsey Water and States Works were called in to help clear said resultant oil spill, which occurred when the vehicles were damaged. The road was closed for both the crash and the oil spill until later into the evening.
Police said the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions along the road.
Now, it is appealing for witnesses of the incident.
Later in the evening, at 21:00, a fire broke out in a structure on Rue Cohu, nearby to the site of the crash. Fire & Rescue attended that incident and dealt with it soon after.
