ADHD Jersey is set to host a black-tie fundraising event on 26 October at The L’Horizon Hotel in St Brelade.

The black-tie event, described as “an evening of elegance, artistry and advocacy”, will feature a masquerade ball, a three-course dinner, dancing, and an auction of artworks and experiences created or donated by people with ADHD.

This includes handmade jewellery, paintings, drawings, homemade crafts and massage vouchers.

Rachel Tippett, who runs support group ADHD Jersey, explained that the event aims to showcase the talents of the neurodiverse community and change perceptions about the condition.

She said that attendees will wear masks to symbolise the ‘masking’ that ADHD people often have to do in social situations.

The fundraiser will raise money for the group’s monthly support meetings, social media resources, and workplace education programmes.

The evening will also include testimonials from people with ADHD to provide attendees with personal insights into living with the condition.

Mrs Tippet added that she wanted to thank Jane and Mark Smith who donated £2,000 towards the cost of the event.

Tickets for the event are priced at £80 per person, with tables of ten available for £700.
