Roads in seven parishes will be closed to allow marathon runners to run record times – or simply endure the harrowing 42km distance.
Jersey Marathon is due to take place on Sunday 4 October from 8am to 4pm, though many of the road closures only apply in the morning, or will see roads closed for “short periods of time” as runners come through.
Organisers listed the following roads affected, with those heading to the Airport specifically warned of delays.
Though race cars would be escorting runners, organisers warned friends and family against following runners whether by car, motorbike or bicycle. This could lead to the runner to be eliminated.
A full route map is available online.

St Ouen
St Ouen roads are a “heavily congested area” on the route, organisers warned, with runners going in both directions and a “significant” number of roads closed.

They also warned that access to St Ouen village would be restricted, with diversions in place for those hearing to St Mary or Greve de Lecq.

Those using the railway walk and the cycle track and footpath along the Avenue have been warned that a police motorcycle and time clock car would come down the marathon route with the first runners and take them all the way to the finish at the Weighbridge.
