Here’s this week’s offering…
Charity disco

A raffle, retro vibes, and a full night of dancing are what you can expect from Jersey Cheshire Home’s disco night taking place this weekend.
The fundraiser is taking place on Saturday 8 November from 19:30 at the Best Western Royal Hotel.
Islanders are invited to boogie the night away with DJ Mel playing all the classic hits from the 80s and 90s.
Tickets are £30 per person and include a buffet, with the proceeds raised going towards supporting islanders with disabilities.
Fancy dress is optional but encouraged, with a chance to win the best dressed award.

St Martin’s bonfire display

Bonfire night has been and gone, but islanders can still look forward to the annual St Martin’s Bonfire taking place this weekend.
The postponed event is due to take place on Saturday 8 November from 17:30 in the field next to St Martin’s parish car park.
Fire dancers, live music, jugglers and much more will be on offer throughout the night.
Tickets are priced between £3 and £7, with entry free for children under four years old.

Christmas market

Christmas has come early this year at The Moorings Hotel and Restaurant in Gorey.
Their Christmas market is due to take place on Wednesday 12 November from 17:00 until 20:00.
Unique presents, stocking fillers, and little Christmas inspiration will be on offer at the event.

Bandeoke

On Thursday 13 November, islanders will have the rare change to sing karaoke whilst accompanied by a live band.
The musicians will be on hand throughout the evening to play a catalogue of classic songs, giving audience members the chance to take the lead on vocals.
The first ‘Bandeoke’ session is taking place at The Sundown from 19:30, and attendees are invited to choose their songs in advance or just rock up on the night.

Ambivalences

Islanders are invited to an evening presentation of a new collaborative exchange with one of France’s leading experimental sound and installation art hubs.
The Caen-based Festival Interstice work at the forefront of new innovative work at the intersection of science, art and new technologies.
The collaborative event is taking place on Friday 14 November from 19:30 at ArtHouse Jersey headquarters at the Greve de Lecq barracks.
