Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative, sporty and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here’s this week’s offering…
Squirrel Scurry

A popular family-friendly fundraiser is set to make its return this weekend, as the Squirrel Scurry comes back to St Helier on Saturday 25 April.
The one-mile fun run is designed to be accessible to all, with participants encouraged to take part at their own pace – whether walking, jogging, strolling or “scurrying” the one-mile route.
Registration opens at Jardins de la Mer at 10.45am, followed by a group warm-up ahead of the 11.20am start. The route will take participants around the marina and along the pier, before returning to the starting point.
Organisers say the event is about more than just the run, with a “Fun Zone” running throughout the afternoon. Visitors can expect live music, food vendors, face painting, and themed merchandise, with space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
The event is open to all, with those not taking part in the run invited to come along, cheer participants on, and enjoy the Fun Zone.
The race entry fee is £20 for adults and £10 for children. All funds raised will go towards supporting Acorn Enterprises and the Lowes Legacy Fund, which focuses on improving opportunities for islanders with disabilities and increasing access to arts and music.

Delicious Jersey Food Festival 2026

A food festival celebrating local produce and hospitality is set to take place in St Helier this weekend, bringing together some of the island’s top chefs, producers and suppliers.
The Delicious Jersey Food Festival will be held at Weighbridge Place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April, running from 11am to 7pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
The event will showcase the best of Jersey’s food and drink, with local farmers, fishermen, chefs and hospitality businesses coming together to highlight the quality and diversity of produce available on the island.
Visitors can expect a range of artisan food stalls, local wines and spirits, live chef demonstrations, tastings and tapas-style dishes, alongside live music and entertainment throughout the weekend.
Organisers say the festival is designed to be family-friendly, offering a relaxed atmosphere for Islanders and visitors alike, with a fully licensed bar serving local drinks.
Entry costs £2, which includes a reusable festival cup, while under-16s can attend for free.
The event aims to give people the opportunity to meet the producers behind the food and support local businesses.

The night will also feature a set from Jersey band Flashmob.
Saturday 25 April will see performances from 88 Bunkface and Democracy Manifest, with music again starting from 8pm.
