Brittany Ferries is adding an extra sailing between Guernsey and Jersey to help competitors and supporters get home after next year’s Guernsey Rally.

The additional departure will run from Guernsey to Jersey on Sunday 14 February, following the two-day event on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 February.

It complements an existing sailing from Jersey to Guernsey on Wednesday 10 February, giving Jersey-based crews, officials and spectators the chance to travel over ahead of the rally and return afterwards.

Paul Acheson, Sales and Marketing Director at Brittany Ferries, said: “Island life doesn’t stand still and our timetable shouldn’t either.

“When an event brings Guernsey and Jersey together, we want to make sure it can go ahead and that everyone who wants to take part can get there and home again with ease.”

‘Above and beyond’

The eighth Guernsey Rally will feature 28 stages across two days, covering approximately 50 stage miles.

Karl Marshall and Caren Vidamour, Chairman and Director respectively of the Guernsey Rally, said the ferry company had “gone above and beyond” to support the event.

They added that the additional sailings would help Jersey and UK competitor teams, volunteers and supporters arrange their travel.

Mr Acheson said he had attended last year’s rally and wanted to help raise the profile of events that could bring more visitors to Guernsey and support the local tourism sector.

Sailings can be booked online, through travel agents or by calling 0345 609 1024.
