A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire that broke out on the roof of Le Coie Flats in St Helier early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the flats at around 6.30am on Monday after reports of smoke coming from the roof.
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and quickly brought the blaze under control.
The fire, which measured around one metre by one metre, was contained to the roof of the building.
There were no reports of any injuries, and residents did not need to be evacuated.
The incident prompted the closure of several roads around Springfield as emergency services responded. All have since reopened.
Police are now investigating the cause of the fire and have issued an appeal for witnesses.
Officers are asking anyone who saw the fire being started, noticed suspicious behaviour in the area, or has CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Jersey Police on 612612 or report anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or using its online reporting form.
