A man arrested in connection with a blaze that broke out on the roof of Le Coie Flats has been released without charge after the fire was deemed “accidental”.
Emergency services were called to Le Coie Flats at around 6.30am on Monday 22 June, following multiple reports of smoke coming from the roof.
Islanders were urged to avoid the surrounding area as emergency services responded to the incident.
A 22-year-old man who was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the incident has since been released without charge.
A spokesperson for the States of Jersey police told Express: “Following enquiries and investigation by the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service, the cause of the fire has been determined as accidental.
“The individual who was arrested at the scene has been released, and no further police action is being taken at this time.”
