Islanders are being invited to join the chorus of a brand-new opera that asks what it means to call Jersey home.

Held in the Tide will premiere at the Jersey Opera House on Thursday 26 March 2026.

Set on a shoreline in the aftermath of a storm, the opera follows the story of geologist Lillie, who returns home after years away, and local artist Frances, who never left.

ArtHouse Jersey is searching for a chorus of around 25 people to accompany the professional cast of seven Jersey-born artists.

Participants must be over the age of 18, but do not require any stage or musical experience.

The production includes several small supporting roles which will be cast from within the chorus during rehearsals, which are set to begin in the next month.
