Alastair Chalmers is part of the Great Britain team that has travelled for the European Indoor Championships which begin tomorrow in Apeldoorn.
He secured his spot as part of the 400m mens and mixed relay squads after finishing third over the distance in the British Indoor Championships with a new PB a week ago.
Chalmers, Commonwealth Games bronze medalist over his main event the 400m hurdles, last represented GB in a relay eight years ago.
The mixed relay final takes place tomorrow at 20:52, while the men’s final is scheduled for Sunday at 17:24.
After the team announcement, Paula Dunn, Head Coach at UKA, said: “Historically, this has been a Championship in which the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team has thrived, but it has also been a crucial way for athletes to step into the major championship arena for the first time.
“As we begin the LA Olympic and Paralympic cycle it is great to see a team that combines World and Olympic medallists alongside a number of developing athletes who are making their GB & NI debut. I am looking forward to the squad raising to the challenge, achieving PB’s, reaching finals and battling for medals in Apeldoorn.”
