This marks the club’s first relegation since it launched in 2011, having narrowly missed out staying up by a single point, and two goals, in Saturday’s victory away at Harrow Borough.
Having had a couple of days to recoup, recover, and brace for a brief off-season, the club took to social media to console, and celebrate with fans.

In a statement the Green Lions’ praised the steps taken this season, including the move to Victoria Park, dubbed the ‘new home of Guernsey Football’.
GFC also lauded a deliberate change in playing style, and a greater adoption of youth players.
“Tony, Steve, and Kevin took a conscious decision to change the playing style and revamp the squad to embrace the move to Victoria Park Stadium,” the club said.
“Everybody was prepared to take this calculated risk to move forward again after stagnating for too long, and over the last four weeks and in flashes earlier in the season we have seen the vision. Everyone is now looking forward to a break, with the aim to attack Step 5!”
Guernsey FC’s relegation battle was as close as it could be. The club achieved its largest points haul since 2018, when they finished 18th, but new regulations that mean more clubs face the drop.
“There are plenty of positives to take forward. This was our best points total in seven seasons, achieved in the first year that four teams have been relegated.
“To all our players: thank you for your commitment, your spirit, and your fight. Trust in the process. The future is bright.”
The club have announced a Player of the Year vote, which you can access through the social media link below.
The club knows what it takes to get promoted from the fifth step of the football pyramid, having done it before in style.
They had just been promoted as champions of the sixth step, they instantly jumped from fifth to fourth, finishing second in the league with 90 points, and 30 wins from 42 games.
That was over a decade ago, back in 2012/13, but many of those in the team now shouldering the challenge of taking the Lions back up, were still in primary school and watching from the stands for those games.
Guernsey FC knows what a promotion chase feels like. This is the first taste of relegation for the club, but with confidence in the side growing, a new ground already graced with hat tricks, it’s no surprise the club is already planning to hit back with a roar.
“We want to thank all our supporters for their unwavering loyalty and passion throughout a challenging season. You have stayed with us through everything, and it means the world.
“However, this is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our club. With the opening of Victoria Park, we are building something special. The journey continues.”

In contrast, the Lionesses won their league championship in their first season, with an air of ease.
The ladies scored 80 goals in 14 matches, only dropping points with one draw all season.
The club hopes they can move to a UK league next season, as they may have outgrown their current level.
