Organisers of this weekend’s RBC Race for the Kids are seeking volunteers to help the event run safely and smoothly.

More than 1,000 participants are expected to run, jog, walk, wheel or scoot around Jersey’s Waterfront, choosing from distances of 2.5km, 5km or 10km.

All money raised from the event on Sunday 6 September will go to the Jersey Child Care Trust.

The fun run is being hosted by the Supertri Pro Series, whose final will see some of the world’s best short-course triathletes compete at the Waterfront for the sixth time.

Organisers said: “No previous experience is required to be a course marshal, just a few hours free on the morning of Sunday 6 September.

“All volunteers will receive a briefing, along with teas and coffees on arrival.”

Anyone able to volunteer as a course marshal can register online.
