Guernsey Mind has postponed its planned Walkies event after Storm Austen left a ruff forecast for Sunday’s dog walkers.

The event, due to take place at L’Ancresse this Sunday, has been pushed back a week to Sunday 1 November, with strong north-westerly winds still expected despite the storm itself having passed.

Force 6 to 7 winds are forecast across L’Ancresse, making it difficult to safely set up the event’s gazebo and photo frames.

Organisers said they wanted everyone to be safe and able to enjoy the event, which will now take place next Sunday instead.
