De Gruchy is inviting islanders to enjoy a classic afternoon tea this week while supporting its chosen charity Freeda.

Timed to coincide with National Afternoon Tea Week, the promotion runs from Monday 11 August, with guests able to visit either The Brasserie or Infusion Café within the store from 14:00 to indulge in a relaxing treat, with £2 from every afternoon tea sold donated directly to Freeda.

Freeda provides vital support services for women and children and this promotion is part of the store’s ongoing charity partnership activity programme with funds raised helping them continue their important work.

Simon Youden, Store Director at De Gruchy, said: “Afternoon tea is a timeless and quintessentially English tradition and one that fits beautifully with De Gruchy’s long heritage. Founded in 1810, we’ve always valued tradition and quality and this is a lovely way for our customers to enjoy both while also supporting a very worthy local cause.”

Guests can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea for £21.50 per person, and for those looking for something a little different, an upgrade to the Jasmine Flower Blossom Afternoon Tea is available for £24. Served in a glass teapot, this delicate tea blooms before the eyes into a floral display, offering a unique and calming experience.

Whether it’s a post-shopping pick-me-up or a quiet catch-up, afternoon tea at De Gruchy offers a moment of indulgence all while supporting a meaningful local cause.
