A Jersey-born professional with years of experience working for major charities in the UK is returning to the island after two decades to become CEO of Dementia Jersey.
Claudine Snape joins from The National Deaf Children’s Society, where she was Director of Communications.
The former Jersey College for Girls student built her career in the charity sector in London working for major charities, including Cancer Research UK. She takes over from Sean Pontin, who has taken the role of CEO of Enable.
Ms Snape said: “I’m excited to be coming back to the Island after 20 years to take on this important role. It’s one close to my heart as my grandmother had vascular dementia and my best friend’s dad has Alzheimer’s.
"Dementia Jersey plays a key role in supporting the quality of life and dignity of people with dementia in the local community and I hope to be able to extend their reach and impact."
The charity’s Chairman, Chris Renouf, said: “We’re delighted that Claudine is joining us. She brings a wealth of charity sector knowledge with a focus on fundraising and marketing. She’ll be a big help to build on our recent name change and boost our profile and income in order to support more people with dementia”.
Ms Snape starts her role at Dementia Jersey, which used to be called the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, on 10 May.
