Teen stabbing suspects released on bail

Four teenagers who were arrested on suspicion of stabbing an 18-year-old have been released on bail.

The male victim was found in the parking area to the rear of the Unifare shop on Le Geyt Road around 23:00 on Sunday (9 January), and was later airlifted to Southampton Hospital.

A 16, 17 and 18-year-old were arrested on Monday, and another 16-year-old was arrested on Wednesday morning.

In an update this morning, Police said "All four suspects... have now been released on bail whilst enquiries continue."

The victim had to undergo emergency surgery in Southampton Hospital. Officers added that he remains at the hospital and is recovering from his surgery.

On Wednesday evening, Police appealed for the public's help in identifying two possible witnesses to the stabbing - a man and a dog walker. They were successfully located.
