Japanese restaurant Fukku has officially become the third Guernsey location to be added to the 2025 Michelin Guide.

The guide also features the island’s coastal restaurant Vraic, which is the cover feature for the December-January Connect, and European fusion dining spot Alba.

Fukku offers a dining-in menu featuring traditional Japanese cuisine such as tempura, robata, ramen and sushi in addition to takeaway options and an office delivery menu.

“We were very excited and surprised to be included in the Michelin Guide,” said Sam Jarrold, owner of Fukku.

“It’s an incredible honour, not just for our team but for the broader Guernsey food scene. We put so much passion into what we do, and it’s fantastic to see that recognised. This motivates us even more to keep pushing and delighting every guest who walks through our door.”

Having established a successful restaurant on the island in 2013, The Hook, Jarrold debuted Fukku in 2022 in the Arcade in St Peter Port as an informal lunch spot at a lower price point.

After making a name for itself in the Arcade, the restaurant moved to the former Guernsey Post Office location on Smith Street earlier this year.
