A neurodivergent islander who raised thousands of pounds for charity last year by completing seven marathon-length runs in seven days has set his sights on a new fundraising challenge – and revealed his long-term vision for giving back to the community that has supported him.

James Hadley-Piggin, who has a developmental co-ordination disorder and has also been diagnosed with ADHD and ASD, successfully took on the series of runs in August 2025 in support of AllMatters Neurodiverse.

His fundraising efforts helped the charity’s ‘Breaking Barriers’ sport, fitness and wellbeing event take place at the Royal Jersey Showground earlier this year.

Training myself to do two completely different disciplines is the hardest thing I’ve put my body through but I know that it will be worth it in the long run

James’s new challenge, which will see him raise money for Acorn Enterprises, combines two of his passions – running and dancing.

He will be running the Jersey Marathon, showcasing a dance move after every mile and then performing a full dance routine after completing the course.

“Training myself to do two completely different disciplines is the hardest thing I’ve put my body through but I know that it will be worth it in the long run,” James said.

He also told Express that his dream is to make a break on stage or in films, with the hope that he will be able to use it as a platform to start a foundation called ‘The 3%’ helping organisations that support those like him.

“This foundation is not a question of ‘if’, it’s a case of ‘when’ and ‘how’ and this challenge is just the beginning,” James added.
