Making their debut in the England Hockey Men’s Over-35 Cup, Jersey produced a dramatic 2-2 draw against historic English club Southgate before prevailing on penalty shuffles to book their place in the next round.
There was more to celebrate at Springfield Stadium, where both Jersey Bulls sides enjoyed victories.
The men maintained their unbeaten start with a 4-2 win over Ascot United, while the women claimed their first three points of the season with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Walton & Hersham.
CoinShares Park also witnessed a landmark result, with Jersey RFC finally getting their first National League 2 East win of the campaign. Myles Landick’s side edged Colchester 43-36 in a thrilling contest.
The pair also discuss two Jersey athletes making moves at the highest level, with midfielder Stanley Dunne joining Bristol Rovers on a one-year deal and Asa Tribe signing for MI Emirates.
Archie also reflects on a weekend spent learning from coaching master Neil Harris, the former Manchester United academy coach who delivered two sessions for local coaches in Jersey.
The Jersey Marathon was the centre of attention on Sunday with Simon Kimtai Kwarat crossing the line after 2:19:56s taking the men’s title. Meanwhile, Gladys Kiptoo smashed the women’s record with a time of 2:35:57s.
And there was plenty to celebrate on the oche, with Jersey’s darts players making their mark at the WDF Europe Cup, including captain Craig Quemard’s impressive 80.18 average.
