In the world of city planning (which is a much more interesting world than you might think), everyone’s trying to turn their metropolis into a “Smart City” at the moment.
We went to the TM Forum Smart City InFocus event in Yinchuan, China, to find out how the local government (in partnership with telecoms firm ZTEsoft) is building a whole new city, with all its services interconnected in one giant “digital ecosystem”.
Yinchuan is going to be truly Chinese in scale, and no doubt very impressive. But “smart cities” come in all shapes, sizes and ages. Your city might be “smart” and you don’t even know it – follow our quiz to find out!
