It’s the last Friday of the month, which means it is or very nearly is pay day up and down the land, as well as the weekend.
And we can think of no better way to celebrate this double-dose of joy than with a bundle of new apps to have fun with. Step this way.
“New social network” is something you hear quite a lot on the App Store, with dozens of apps claiming to be the next big thing in social media launched every week. But Yubl might just break that mold – offering a very cool mixture of instant messaging, canvas-based creativity and a handful of interactive buttons that can be dropped into posts that enable users to, among other useful things, share all their locations on one map to organise a meet up.

When it comes to awesome zombie-killing skills in The Walking Dead, Michonne is most people’s favourite. Now, you’ll be delighted to hear, the samurai sword-wielding heroine has her very own game. Made by Telltale games and complete with their distinctive art style, the game follows the graphic novel story line, as well as dealing with her disappearance between issues 126 and 139 of the comic series. One for the die-hard fans.

An official launch having been developed by Ubisoft, Identity is a slimmed-down version of the console series, with free roam removed and a series of challenges and side missions instead. For mobile gaming the visuals are great, and there’s some cool RPG aspects to the game that enable users to customise their assassin and choose between four classes.

A brilliant concept that also looks fantastic, Weather is aimed at kids aged four and over, with the idea being to teach them about the atmosphere and how different weather occurs. To do this they can play with the elements, combining them to see what happens, with it all taking place within a gorgeous, colourful world.

Anything set within the Futurama universe is fine by us, and this is no exception. For the pun-heavy title alone it would be worth a free download, but the cut-scenes between levels will please any fan of the show too. In essence, this is Candy Crush Saga by another name as you match rows of coloured items, but that’s a fun format, and one you’ll want to play.
