Many games are commended for being incredibly life-like these days, and now the team at Call of Duty are looking to make that even more the case.

This year’s edition of the franchise – Black Ops 3 – will have a new ‘Realistic’ difficulty setting, and this will give the player just a single point of health.

Get shot or take an impact of an explosion, and that’s it, you’re dead.

It will form part of the new co-operative campaign mode, and game director Jason Blundell said he was intrigued at how it changes the way players will approach the game.

“I was really fascinated when we put it in to play with it, how you end up respecting the level in a completely different way, and approach the battle.

“The gunfire opens up, and everybody just drops to the ground. It just paralyses you, because you know that any one bullet that hits you, any one grenade that goes off near you, and you’re dead.”

“I was fascinated by how radically it changed how you experienced the campaign, and I hooked up an achievement to it, because anybody can do that, I take my cap off to them.”

The new game is out on November 6 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
