With the likes of Periscope and Meerkat already dominating the live-streaming video market, you might think it best not to get too involved with that sector, unless you’re David Beckham of course.

The former England captain has launched his own take on live-streaming with MyEye, an app he is a founding investor and ambassador for.

Beckham even took to Instagram to promote the launch.

And then began sharing on MyEye as well.

The app enables users to stream live video from their mobile device, with the clips staying available for 72 hours after the broadcast ends. It’s free to download on both Android and iOS too.

Clips can be replayed as many times as you like in the 72-hour period, but than vanish forever – similar to photo-app Snapchat.

The app’s interface works in a similar way to the likes of Periscope, encouraging users to like posts and interact with other posters.

Becks has taken on a few challenges in his time, but taking Periscope’s crown might be a step too far even for him.
