He might be the leader of the free world and therefore quite a busy man, but it doesn’t mean President Obama hasn’t got time for a bit of music in his life.
Using the official Presidential Twitter account, Obama has been sharing two Spotify playlists of what he’s been listening to on his summer holiday. He’s made one for the day, and one for the evening.
You’ll notice a range of artists in there, including Bob Marley, Coldplay, Bob Dylan, Florence and the Machine and Justin Timberlake all featuring on the Day track list.
For the evening, there’s Van Morrison, Otis Redding, Joni Mitchell, Beyonce and Frank Sinatra.
The playlists have been shared on a newly created White House channel; leaving open the suggestion that we might well get more compilations from the President in the future.
It also ups the White House’s visibility on social media – with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts already in place, this is just another way the public can interact with the Obama administration.
Maybe David Cameron is probably sat on his own Portuguese holiday putting together his own playlist right now.
