Facebook is always looking out for us, aren’t they? The world’s biggest social network has just announced plans to roll out what is essentially an ex-blocker, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Now as soon as you change your relationship status to say you’re no longer in a relationship, you’ll be given a host of new options including: to untag yourself from photos of you and your ex, limiting “the photos, videos or status updates that a former partner will see”, untagging yourself from posts with that person, and keeping them off your news feed.

You’ll essentially be able to un-friend your ex without them ever having to know.

Unfortunately these changes are being tested in the US first, and will be rolled out elsewhere based on people’s feedback – so maybe hold off on ending that relationship for just a bit longer.

Now if they could just stop suggesting we add people we don’t like as “friends”, that would be great.

For now though, good job Facebook.
