Panasonic has designed a clothes hanger that eliminates odours from fabrics.

The hanger works by releasing nano-sized negatively charged particles around the fabric while the clothes are hanging up. They’re so small, they’re invisible to the human eye.
For the gadget to work, it has to either be plugged into a power source or can use a battery pack. All it takes is a push of the ‘on’ button once clothes are hung up, but you then have to wait five to seven hours for smells to be eliminated.
There is also a clothing cover that can be placed over the garment to give it a more thorough clean.
Sadly, unless you live in Japan, you won’t be able to get your hands on the Deodorant Hanger just yet. But if the gadget appeals to you, you should know it costs about 20,000 yen (£139).
We’ve got to admit, we can see it being useful for those occasions when you desperately want to clean your favourite top and your flatmate or a relative is hogging the washing machine…
