It’s been a gaping hole in the smartphone revolution of the last few years, but now, finally, there’s a mobile phone been created that’s designed for your cat.
It’s been created by French company Weenect, who have created a sensor for cat collars that contain a microphone and speaker, meaning that once fitted with a SIM card and connected with an app on your phone can be used to ‘contact’ your feline companion.
The sensor also has GPS built-in. so owners can also track their pet’s location, as well as see logs of their travels in recent times – should you be interested in that sort of thing.
Of course, actually having a conversation with your cat isn’t going to happen – but it could come in handy if your cat ends up lost, and you need to have a conversation that the person that finds them.
The collar is still in the pre-order phase for now, costing £60, but if you order it by December 15 the makers say you’ll have it by Christmas. Which means a happy cat.
